Easiest to start
Stamped cross stitch
The design is printed right on the fabric, so you stitch over the pattern. No chart and no counting: just pick up the needle and go.
Best for: beginners, relaxed evening stitching and gifts for new crafters.

Crisp and detailed
Counted cross stitch
You stitch from a chart onto plain Aida fabric, counting the squares as you go. It takes more concentration and gives cleaner, more detailed results.
Best for: stitchers who enjoy following a chart and want a finer finish.

Everything at The Threaded Shed is sourced and stitched by Tarryn from my little studio in Berryville, Virginia. My designs start with what we see around us in the Shenandoah Valley, like meadow flowers, garden colours and the quiet parts of country life. Each one is sketched and stitched by hand into a finished hoop.
I started The Threaded Shed because embroidery was the thing that slowed my evenings down, calmed my busy mind and kept my hands screen free and I want to share that calm with anyone who'd like to pick up a needle.
